PPSR disputes may arise where a Dealership Registers an interest on a vehicle that they were not entitled to register a Security Interest over.

They may do this in cases where they did not register a Purchase Monies Security Interest  (PMSI) at the time they sold the vehicle on terms. Then, later when they did not get paid as expected, they register a Security Interest. By this time the vehicle may be in the hands of another dealer or private buyer who bought the vehicle and checked clear title with a PPSR certificate.
